Levshinsky Lunch-2024
25.12.2024
SheLESt Restaurant is taking part in the Levshinsky Lunch-2024 historical and gastronomic festival, which will be held in the Tula region for the fourth time.
The concept of the 2024 festival is based on the Russian cuisine of the first third of the 19th century. Participating restaurants will offer their guests three–course dinners inspired by historical recipes. Russian Russian Cookery (1796; 1816), the first ever collection of recipes for Russian dishes, compiled by Levshin, remains in the center of attention. An additional source of knowledge and inspiration for the participants was the "Cook Calendar" (1808; 1828), in which Vasily Alekseevich collected the best dishes of the era for every day.
The brand chef of our restaurant chose three dishes from the book. Pickle (and in the past—hookah)— one of the main Russian soups. The festival dinner features a modern variation of it — with a stewed cheek, pickled cucumbers and pearl barley cream. Chicken "brizole" is cooked according to an old recipe and garnished with steamed sauerkraut and plum sauce. The lunch will be completed with an avant-garde dessert based on classic Russian tastes.: pumpkin, gingerbread and baked apple.
The festival lunch can be ordered as a whole or as separate dishes, from the "old" Christmas date on December 25 and almost to the "old" New Year, until January 12. Each festival lunch is not only delicious and expertly prepared dishes, but also an immersion in the spirit of the glorious 19th century and the history of Russian cuisine.
All information about the festival and its participants is posted on the tourist portal of the Tula region.
