The Wild Cherry Festival starts on April 22!
The first one! Spring! Delicious! Wild cherry trees break through the dry winter foliage in the Sturgeon forestry in mid-April, and the harvest season lasts until about the beginning of June. The first young leaves are considered the most useful. They taste like garlic and onion greens and are rich in vitamin C.
This is the second year that the forest has inspired us to hold the Cheremsha Festival. This time we have prepared even more different surprises and interesting facts about Wild Garlic. This time, by popular demand, the festival will start on April 22 and last more than a month!
We will definitely tell you how to properly harvest Wild garlic! The leaves are cut off so that they do not damage and leave the roots in the ground so that crops can be harvested in this place and next year.
You will learn why wild garlic cannot be harvested everywhere, and why it is possible in the Tula region. How to distinguish Wild garlic from inedible lily of the valley and evergreen. How it is useful, from what diseases and ailments it helps, and how to preserve and prepare it.
During the festival, we will walk through the forest, tell stories about wild garlic, compose poems and songs about it, draw and embroider these delicate green leaves, and, of course, we will try it!
At culinary master classes from our brand chef Anton Krupenin, you will learn several ways to cook wild garlic, and, of course, you can taste dishes from the special festival menu!
