A cozy “Historical dinner party according to V. Levshin". New Year's Eve version
After a couple of days of festive feasts, I want a simple, Russian, warming... soup. What if it's not just soup, but chicken noodles? Yes, rolled and sliced with your own hands? Stewed in a Russian oven, as the housewives of Tula province cooked two centuries ago? And if you add to the noodles “Popadyin pie”? No! Is this not a pie at all, in the usual sense of the word, but a delicacy made from wheat pancakes, mended with butter and cottage cheese, and baked repeatedly in a Russian oven, with the aroma of a campfire and comfort?
Join us for a “Historical dinner party” based on Russia's first cookbook, written by Tulyak Vasily Levshin more than two hundred years ago.
On January 4, at 3 p.m., we will meet in the magical place - the SheLESt restaurant of the Just WOOD eco-hotel, and we will talk about the history of Russian cuisine and the cultural code sewn into each of us. Let's discuss how noodles from a nomad dish became a favorite soup of farmers, on what occasions “Popadin pie” was served and, in fact, why it was so called.
The format of the meeting is a master class and a chef's presentation, during which Anton Krupenin will present his author's interpretation of traditional Russian dishes. The evening is accompanied by an interesting cultural lecture from the collaborative space “Artisan bakery “Tradition”.
It starts at 15:00.
Important! It is necessary to book a place at the master class in advance!
The cost is 3,500 rubles for each participant.
