From September 13 to September 30, the SheLESt restaurant offers its guests to taste original dishes from Tula apples and local vegetables as part of the Dvoryaninovsky Apples food festival.

The new gastronomic festival is designed to resurrect the former glory of Tula province as an apple region. At the end of the 19th century, there were 95,000 apple and pear trees in our city! Magnificent apple orchards grew in all counties of the province. Some apple varieties were discovered in Tula orchards and received names associated with the region (for example, Borovinka, Zolotarevskoye, Skryzhapel) .

It is not surprising that the first code describing Russian varieties of apples was created on Tula land. In 1797-1801, the scientist and landowner Andrei Bolotov described and sketched from nature 640 "different kinds of apples and pears" that grew in his ancestral village of Dvoryaninov and in other gardens. Bolotov also owns another work-the basis and the forerunner work: painting "the most famous plants kept and cultivated in the gardens of foreigners", which he dreamed of transferring to Russian soil.

"Dvoryanin Apples" is a reminder festival and a remembrance festival. A reminder of the outstanding figure of Russian culture of the glorious eighteenth century, one of the founders of Russian agronomy, Andrei Timofeevich Bolotov (1738-1833). And the memory of the amazing variety of garden and horticultural products that were once grown in Russian households.

Maxim Marusenkov, Candidate of Philology and culinary historian, is the historical consultant of the Dvoryanin Apples Festival.

To emphasize the historical continuity, all the printing materials of the festival are created in full Russian spelling, which was used before 1918.

The festival dishes created by our brand chef Anton Krupenin can be tasted either as a set (it's cheaper this way) or separately.

In the special menu:

Sockeye salmon with lightly salted cucumber and pickled daikon.

Pork belly with baked apple cream and kvass sauce.

Pavlova ate a baked apple.
